Harvest 2004:
SW MI has exceeded the estimate of production.
WC MI is well underway. Quality is good.
NW MI has had just a trickle of fruit so far.
NY has begun. Quality is good, but there has been rain.
WA handlers are suggesting that they will likely pick short of
the estimate. Quality still good. About done.
UT is picking to growers' and processors' expectations.
OR & PA have been combined since they are unrestricted districts
and there are some reporting constraints there, too.
School Lunch Tour, July 20 - 21 The industry is
hosting a visit by representatives of the USDA's School Lunch Program.
This is a great opportunity to showcase the industry.
Call the CIAB at 888/639-2422 if you have questions regarding either the harvest or any
other issues.
